The Amendments and When they were Ratified
- The 1st Amendment- Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, petition, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 2nd Amendment- The Right to bear arms- Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 3rd Amendment- No quartering soldiers in private homes with/out permission, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 4th Amendment- A warrant is needed to search or seize private property, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 5th Amendment- protects the rights of those accused in a crime, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 6th Amendment- Gives us the right to a speedy trial, trial, by jury, question witness, and a lawyer, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 7th Amendment- Gives us the right to a jury trial in lawsuits over $20, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 8th Amendment- Prevents the court from imposing bail, or fines that are too high/excessive, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 9th Amendment- The rights of the people are not limited to those listed in the bill of rights, Ratified December 15, 1791
- The 10th Amendment- Powers not given to the federal government belong to the states, Ratified December 15, 1791
